The Charm of Wakasagi Fishing

Our tour takes you to the tent village along the Barato River—about 20 km long and 200 m wide—stretching from northern Sapporo into Ishikari.

The Barato River is a top choice for easy yet authentic wakasagi fishing. It is much closer to central Sapporo than major lakes, making it an ideal and convenient spot for a fun outdoor activity.

During winter, the riverside transforms into a lively tent village, creating a vibrant and cozy community on the ice.
It’s perfect for families, travelers with limited time, and anyone who wants a winter adventure without long travel from Sapporo.

Inside each tent, holes are pre-drilled in the ice, so you can start fishing right away—no complicated preparation required.
